If you are looking at SEO services in Malaysia, you likely want three answers. What does it cost, what do I get for that money, and will it work for my business?
This page answers all three with real numbers. I’m Khalid, and I work directly with business owners in Malaysia on Google rankings and AI search visibility. No account managers, no juniors, no handoffs.
What SEO services cost in Malaysia
My plans start at RM 499 a month and go up from there. Many Malaysian agencies quote RM 3,000 to RM 8,000 a month for a similar scope, which is 6 to 16 times more. The gap does not come from better SEO. It comes from office rent, sales teams, and account managers who pass your emails to someone else.
Here are my three plans:
| Starter | Growth | Authority | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | RM 499/mo | RM 999/mo | Custom quote |
| Best for | Small businesses that want solid SEO basics | Businesses ready to compete seriously | Competitive niches, ecommerce, big catalogs |
| Content | 4 website content pieces a month | 8 to 10 content pieces a month | Everything in Growth |
| Google Business Profile | Optimization | Optimization plus monthly updates | Everything in Growth |
| On-page and technical SEO | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Off-page SEO | No | Yes | Advanced link building |
| AI search (AEO/GEO) | No | Yes | Yes |
| Brand mentions and social posting | No | Yes (8 to 10 posts a month) | Yes |
| Ecommerce SEO | No | No | Yes |
| Competitor gap analysis | No | No | Yes |
| Reporting | Monthly | Monthly | Weekly, plus strategy calls |
Every plan starts with a free audit. There are no contracts. You pay month to month and cancel any time. If the work is good, you stay. If it is not, you leave.
You will find the full breakdown on my SEO services page.
Which plan fits your business
Starter suits a local business with a real website that has never had proper SEO. A dentist, a tuition centre, a repair shop, a small clinic. The basics matter most here: fixing technical problems, tuning your key pages, and setting up your Google Business Profile so you show up on the map.
Growth suits a business that already has customers and wants more of them from search. Two things separate it from Starter. It adds more content each month, and it adds AI search work, so your business gets mentioned when people ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google’s AI Overviews for a recommendation.
Authority suits online stores, businesses with hundreds of pages, and industries where every competitor already spends money on SEO. The price depends on the size of the job, so I quote it after the audit.
A quick way to choose: if you cannot name three competitors who rank above you, start with the audit and let the data pick the plan.

What you should get for your money
Whatever you pay and whoever you hire, check that these are included:
- A written audit before any work starts
- A plan that names specific pages and specific keywords, not “ongoing SEO”
- Monthly reports built on Google Search Console data (clicks, impressions, positions)
- Direct contact with the person doing the work
- Freedom to leave without a penalty
If a proposal is missing two or more of these, ask why.
Real results from real clients
Here is what the work looks like in Google Search Console. These are numbers from 8 clients across different industries.
| Client | Industry | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Windham Weaponry Inc. | Firearms (USA) | 2.7M impressions, 35.9K clicks |
| Chocolate Mart BD | Ecommerce (Bangladesh) | 1.3M impressions, 35.6K clicks |
| Sublime Stays | Travel and hospitality | 775K impressions, 12.3K clicks |
| Apply Malaysia Visa | Government-style services | 154K total clicks |
| Minion Gadgets BD | Consumer electronics | 392K impressions, 26.1K clicks |
| Perfume Price BD | Ecommerce, fragrance | 6.07K monthly clicks |
| Elglobi Barta | News and media | 2.62K monthly clicks |
| Veer & Sant Real Estate | Real estate (UAE) | 1.87K monthly clicks |
Together that is over 7.4 million impressions and 120,000 clicks.
One honest note. Several of these clients are outside Malaysia, so read the table as proof of how I work, not as a promise for your site. Results depend on your industry, your competitors, and how much is broken when we start.
What made the difference in each case
The numbers matter less than the decisions behind them. A few examples:
- Windham Weaponry. Firearms is one of the hardest niches for SEO because platforms restrict ads and keyword targeting. I built content that stayed inside those limits instead of fighting them.
- Sublime Stays. Big travel sites own the obvious keywords. I skipped the head-on fight and went after booking and destination searches that the big sites handle poorly.
- Perfume Price BD. Lots of people search perfume brand names but never buy. I focused on “price” and “buy” searches, which send visitors straight to product pages.
- Minion Gadgets BD. A catalog of 300+ products cannot be fixed one page at a time. I optimized the whole catalog in a system, so every product page got attention.
- Apply Malaysia Visa. Official sites and large blogs dominate visa searches. I picked specific, high-volume application keywords and built a steady flow of daily traffic there.
The pattern is simple. Find the searches your competitors ignore or handle badly, then own them.
How long SEO takes
Most sites need around three to six months before rankings move in a steady way. Less competitive local searches move sooner. Crowded industries take longer. Anyone who guarantees a number one ranking in a few weeks is either lucky or lying.
What you should see early is proof of work. Technical problems get fixed in the first weeks, new pages go live, and your Search Console impressions start climbing before clicks do. That early climb is a good sign.
Common mistakes when buying SEO services
Choosing on price alone. The cheapest offer often means one template used on every client. The most expensive often means you are paying for the agency, not the work. Judge the plan, not the number.
Signing a long contract. A 6 to 12 month lock-in protects the seller. If the SEO is working, you will stay without one.
Skipping the audit. Without a look at your site first, any quote is a guess.
Only caring about Google. People now ask ChatGPT and read AI Overviews before they click anything. If your SEO plan never mentions AI search, it covers half the job.
Accepting reports full of vanity numbers. “Traffic went up 40%” means nothing if none of it turned into calls or sales. Ask for clicks, impressions, and rankings on the pages that earn you money.
Ignoring your language and market. Malaysians search in English, Bahasa Melayu, and Mandarin, often on a phone. A plan copied from a US or UK playbook misses this.
Red flags in an SEO proposal
- A guaranteed ranking or a guaranteed date
- No mention of who does the actual work
- Vague deliverables like “SEO optimization”
- Payment demanded before any audit
- A reporting sample that shows no real data
Who this is for, and who it isn’t
I am a good fit if you have a real business with a website, you think in months rather than days, and you want to talk to the person doing the work.
I am not a good fit if you want a guaranteed number one ranking next week, you want tactics that risk a Google penalty, or you want the cheapest option no matter the quality.
If you are still comparing options, my guide on how to pick an SEO agency in Malaysia explains the four types of SEO partners and who each one suits.
Frequently asked questions
How much do SEO services cost in Malaysia? Plans with me start at RM 499 a month. Growth is RM 999 a month, and Authority is quoted after an audit. Prices across the market vary a lot by industry and scope, so compare what is included, not only the fee.
Do I have to sign a contract? No. Every plan is month to month and you can cancel any time.
Is the audit really free? Yes. I review your site and tell you what is broken and where the biggest opportunities are, with no payment and no obligation.
Do you work on AI search, or only Google rankings? Both. AI search work (AEO and GEO) is part of the Growth and Authority plans. It covers being cited in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity.
What makes you different from an SEO agency? You deal with me, not an account manager. The whole budget goes into the work, and you see real Google Search Console numbers each month.
The next step
Send me your website. I will look at how you show up in Google and in AI answers, tell you where you are losing traffic, and suggest the plan that fits, or tell you honestly if you do not need one yet. You can also contact me here.
